Nasser Sabet (1935-1991) was born in Nayriz, Iran, and moved to Shiraz as a child. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Shiraz and was an active member of the Baha'i Youth Committee. His love for literature, poetry, and his beloved Faith were already evident through many poems he wrote in his youth. He moved to Torino, Italy, in 1958 to further his education. He received his doctorate in civil engineering in 1965 from the Politecnico of Torino and was awarded a scholarshop from the Ministero degli Affari Esteri for the best foreign student at the University of Torini in 1962-1966. In 1965, he was offered a post-doctorate scholarship in Italy by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Tehran. He returned in Iran in 1967 and worked in the Municipality of Tehran as chief of the Traffic Engineering Bureau. In 1968, he married Shahnaz Moghbel and had two children, Maziar and Ashkan. He served in Iran as member of the Baha'i Public Affairs Committee. He moved to Vancouver, Canada, in 1978 and shortly thereafter became a member of the Executive Committee of the Association for Baha'i Studies. He shared his deep knowledge of the Faith through presentations at conferences, articles, and study sessions for adults and youths. He passed away June 2, 1991 in Vancouver.
